Discover your yoga practice

Yoga combines breath, meditation and movement to enhance the connection between the body and mind. The benefits of yoga are vast and holistic. Some common improvements with yoga are pain, sleep, mood, mobility, energy, peace, presence, trust and self-connection. There are different styles of yoga and each type evokes a different intention. Certain practices create balance, flexibility and strength, while others cause deep relaxation and release. No matter your experience with yoga, find your flow and begin your yoga journey. Classes are inclusive to all bodies and levels of yoga.

Yoga Intentions

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa yoga combines aligned movements with steady breathwork to create a harmonious flow. The sequences vary between slow and fast paced and the postures differ between lying, sitting and standing. Balance is achieved when the transitions coordinate with the breath.

Cannabis Yoga

Cannabis is powerful herb that has been known to help with a variety of symptoms such as pain, sleep, chronic imbalances and many more. When cannabis is combined with yoga, our bodies are given the opportunity to release tension and explore the postures more deeply. We develop insights to help clear the mind and let go of what no longer serves. Marissa is a trained cannabis nurse and can help guide you to find a regimen and practice that fits your needs.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga offers many benefits to our health including relief with pain, anxiety, stress and sleep. These poses connect to different areas of our bodies including our muscles, joints, organs and energy channels. The poses are held for an extended period of time, typically 2-7 minutes. This allows for deep release, holistic restoration and introspection.

About Marissa

The name Cities2Mountains was inspired by my love for travel, nature and connection. I have been a visiting nurse for the past nine years and over these years, I have traveled and practiced in different states, cities and homes. These experiences exposed me to different ways of living and inspired me to explore alternative ways to heal.

My holistic wellness journey began after graduating from nursing school in Boston. I knew I wanted to explore the body in a more holistic way and yoga caught my attention since it emphasizes a mind-body connection. I traveled to Costa Rica and earned my first 200-hour yoga certification with Marianne Wells. After completing the course, I learned that yoga is more than a physical practice, but a lifestyle and mindset. I was inspired to follow my heart, and moved to California where I became a board-certified holistic nurse, completed a second 200-hour yoga training with Dan Ward and a yin yoga certification with Kali Durga.

Three years later, I relocated to Colorado and continued my work as a nurse and yoga instructor. During the pandemic, I started my yoga YouTube channel to offer classes during an uncertain and stressful time. After spending a few years in Denver, I moved back to Boston and continue to work as a nurse, cannabis advocate and yoga teacher. I aspire to bring wellness to individuals and communities in a more accessible, inclusive and affordable way.
